It’s for sale on the company website, very odd to me.Į) GF1 cartridge drop lever is new to me and seems strange, perhaps unnecessary.į) Unfired cartridges enter the receiver at trigger pull for the GF1, making for an odd sound and feel, when cycling dummy rounds. Overall, the GF1 is much more visually pleasing and the few people who viewed mine said it’s a beautiful gun.Ī) Burrs, sharp edges and rough surfaces are extensive in the GF1 receiver, action and gas system and those metals seem of poorer quality.ī) GF1 is slightly heavier than the Viper.Ĭ) GF1 magazine plug (i.e. The Ceracote on the GF1 is very well done and looks great. However, the wood on the GF1 looks much better and the satin finish feels better. Materials on the Viper appear to be better quality and the fit and finish, much better. The Viper (Armsan) build quality is much better than the GF1 (Francolin). Will also report on the initial firing of the Viper There have been numerous reports on the Tristar Viper.įor this report I will provide my comparison between it and the Gforce GF1. UPDATE Tristar Viper and Gforce GF1 Quality Review and Range Report (Viper only): Stay tuned for product and range reports. However, I will decide about what to keep and/or sell. I will get the Tristar soon and will decide what to do. Within a few hours Bryan responded and had already sent what I needed free of charge. I also sent a message to Gforce (Reno Nevada, importer) about the action bar being damaged and the fact that the gun does not come with a magazine plug (2 round limiter). I am very impressed with the quality of the wood on the GF1W and the gun is great looking. I have not fired it but it should cycle well with few jams (hoping). Cycles by hand very well (about 100 dummy rounds) and the gas system is very smooth feeling now. I enjoyed it, glad I could find the time. Took apart the bolt, receiver, trigger group, gas system, mag tube and deburred and polished it all. Got out the diamond needle files, 250/600/2000 sandpaper, polishing tools and started working it. However, I noticed the internal metal workings of the product were very rough. After a struggle, got it un-jammed and repaired the action bar. I could not install the barrel because the action bar has a small plunger on it that got bent and So, now I have a Gforce and a Tristar in transit. They would sell it for (100) less that the Stoeger. I was informed they had access to a new Tristar Viper G2 with wood, 26 inch barrel and blued. Got that gun and began to clean and de-burr it when I received a call from the retailed of the cancelled Stoeger. Was very reasonably priced (300) for beautiful wood, 28 inch barrel and Ceracote. I decided to try a new Gforce GF1W until I could decide on next steps. Canceled that, didn’t want open ended delivery and pricing. After about a month I was told it could take “a long time” to get and there was no pricing guarantee.
